Mardi Gras Jazz Concert

Tired of hunkering down inside against the onslaught of this particularly frigid winter? Not looking forward to giving up your favorite things for Lent?

Then join us Saturday evening, March 1st, at 7:00pm, for a gala Fat Tuesday style celebration at St. Paul's for a rousing celebration of New Orleans style music presented by the Mardi Gras Classic Jazz Quartet. With Dan Hartzer on the trumpet, Dan Stevenson with his clarinet, Jamie Poulsen tickling the ivories and Mike Short providing plenty of oompah on the tuba, the band willl feature traditional jazz and gospel favorites of New Orleans, made famous by such greats as Louis Armstrong, including Struttin' With Some BarbecueBourbon Street ParadeJust a Closer Walk With Thee, and When the Saints Go Marching In.

With music like this you would have to agree that it will be a winter-doldrum buster! This concert, presented by Arts@StPaul's, is free of charge, and is held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 201 E. Church Street, in Marshalltown.
